H.I.T Episode 1 - Aug. 20

H.I.T is a vidcast/vodcast, a television show made exclusively for the web. It stands for Hot Interesting Topics and is hosted by my sister Joanna, my brother James and me. The show runs 8 minutes and 25 seconds. I haven’t set up the RSS feed just yet so you can download it manually from the link below.

The show took 3 hours to shoot and 9 hours to edit. Hope you enjoy it! Special thanks must go to my friend Junior Tan of Apple Asia who inspired me to start a vidcast of my own, saying it was on the, “bleeding edge,” and my colleague Dennis Mariano who was kind enough to lend me his brand new DV cam. Of course thanks also goes to my collaborators, Joanna and James; Sarah who I discussed the concept with; Sheila who patiently answered all my FCP & Livetype questions and Jupiter who was kind enough to check in on the editing every now and then.

Please give it a try and let me know what you think.

Requires Quicktime 7: PC | Mac.

I’m trying to view but Quicktime is telling me the compressor is missing so I only have audio. What codec/compressor do I need?

Sorry Patrick. Quicktime H.264 doesn’t play on all Windows machines, I didn’t realize that straight away. I’ve added a MP4 file for PC users already. Next Episode we’ll also offer one in Xvid AVI.

Benedict. Thanks so much for the support! Keep watching!

Cool Josh… I live here in California and I always listen to Leo. Nice to hear somebody from the Philippines talking to Leo Laporte. Congratulations and I will pray for your fast success. Mabuhay!!!

I heard you on KFI with Leo. You were asking about what video codec to use. I’ve experienced (viewed video, not encoded) generally every codec available with video. My favorite is Xvid (funny if you notice it’s divX backwards). Anyhow, it’s given a better quality than divx in my opinion. But a great resource for video related software and information is http://dvd.box.sk
I know they have some free programs that you can use for encoding with whatever codec you want.

    Good luck
