Happy New Year!
Happy New Year everybody. Yes, yes our site is back up and I just wanted to thank everybody for staying on with us. I checked the bandwidth report card from new year’s day and it looks promising still. We are working double time to get everything fixed so that we last a full month this time around. We really couldn’t afford the upgrade last Christmas but we’re definitely working something out this week and we’ll be posting another show soon, i would have wanted to have one up for the new year right as our bandwidth came back but December was the craziest month for all of us. I just wanted you all to know that we’re still here!
As for the tip jar, I’ll be setting something up within the week. It’s not your usual paypal tipjar but i think you can use your paypal account to donate. The only catch is that you will need to pay $3.50 (i think) to make a donation so this isn’t for small tips. According to xoom.com you’re supposed to shoulder the cost, but we feel that doesn’t sound right so we’re willing to just deduct the money from your donation. It is basically an auction payment system but it goes directly into our accoount here. So for example you want to donate $15, then just make a donation of $11.50 because they’re charging you $15 total still (3.50 for the service fee, possibly higher for larger donations). If you ask us it’s quite steep but there aren’t any other options for us in this region.
Another option we’re providing is via bank transfer. We’ll just post our account details along with everything else. Of course this too is a big hassle, but again these are our only options right now. And if you’d still be willing to help out we’d really appreciate it.
Finally as for the hosting, we plan to keep the webpage separate from the downloads directory so as we have this site up for updates as to mirrors and thinsg like that so you can still enjoy the show even if we’ve hit the limit on our main server. More updates later this week.
Cheers!

Hi Michael, Happy New Year! Great site and vodcasts.
I tried using your personal blog’s e-mail form but got an error message
I’m Joey Alarilla, editor of INQ7.net’s YOU and hackenslash sites, and Infotech columnist. I’d like to do a feature story on H.I.T. for INQ7 Infotech and YOU’s E-Life section, and was wondering if you, Joanna and James could answer a few questions via e-mail. Give my regards to Joanna — she used to be our intern.
Thanks.

I sent you a couple of e-mail in the past few months but no reply. I was interested in helping out with some server space or bandwidth as I have some spare. I enjoy your videocasts looking forward to hearing from you. Keep up the good work.

Listed below are links to weblogs that reference Calling for your help! The best video podcasts?:
In order from my iTunes:
- Ask A Ninja
- commandN
- Diggnation
- Geek Entertainment TV
- HIT (where are you, HIT?)
- Tiki Bar TV
Semi-related, iTunes for Windows is utter crap for playing and managing video podcasts, and I have yet to find anywhere to report bugs in the iTunes software. Meh!

I hope the bandwidth crunch hasn’t crushed you. I’ve only seen the latest episode and look forward to downloading the rest. http://ourmedia.org/ is supposed to have free storage and free bandwidth. I don’t know if this is true, I’m not a caster my self. Also, with the donation fee, maybe you could setting up a paypal account, paypal to paypal transfers are free, and I know some paypal accounts can except credit cards, plus they do all the currency conversions.
HIT kind of reminds me of CommandN.
I’m sure you already know all this already. Keep up the great shows.
