HIT Episode 9

October 20th, 2005

Episode 9 is James’ last show before he takes goes on a semestral break, which means school is out and we might not have him around for the next few episodes. Despite three full segments this show is our shortest yet at a little over five minutes. This is a result of our effort to keep each segment short and sweet. Please let us know if you would like a ten minute show with even more segments on it or a regular 3-4 segment show which runs about 6 minutes.

We are also counting down the weeks before our three or four part travel episode which we hope to do in November (fingers crossed).

This week’s Hot Interesting Topics include Idea A Day, Mini Clip.com, Shutterbook, Lt. Chuck Yager, I Love Lucy, X Men Legends 2, Corpse Bride and the iTunes Music Store.

iPod Video Feed/Download

October 15th, 2005

Since the new 5th Generation iPods with video playback capabilities will be available starting next week we decided to offer the show in m4v format, or simply one that is optimized for playback on the iPod video (320×240). This format can also be played on iTunes. Currently only the latest show, Episode 8 available for download but we’ll be adding the rest within the week. It takes over an hour to encode each show.

iPod w/ Video Podcast Support

October 13th, 2005

Apple just released its newest iPod with video support (video iPod). Details can be found in my blog post. This includes support for music videos, tv shows they sell on the iTunes music store, and vidcasts (vodcasts). It is pretty exciting where this will lead. In the future you will be able to watch the show on your iPod.

We will have to wait and see how this will impact shows such as this. Do you vidcasting will take off like podcasting did?

We taped the entire Episode 8 today with 2 new segments and including coverage of the Apple annoucement. Stay tuned.

Birthday Episode Coming Thursday

October 12th, 2005

I get the day off today because it is my birthday (yesterday it was James’) which is really great because it is the first rest day I’ve had in 2 weeks. Last weekend all three of us were separated and busy with work and studies and thus were unable to tape the show. I plan however on doing a special birthday edition tomorrow which will hopefully be up by Thursday afternoon at the latest. We’re also planning to do a bit of coverage on the Apple annoucement tomorrow.

Thanks for the support.

H.I.T Episode 7 - Oct 2

October 6th, 2005

As promised Episode 7 will be a big show running close to 20 minutes. Earlier this week Joanna was able to interview World Boxing Champion Manny Pacquiao, who we have chosen as our HIT Person of the week. We also found the time to shoot an outdoor segment on location at the University of the Philippines in Quezon City.

My apologies to all those who wrote in concerned about the delay and the lack of any feedback on the matter. Every attempt to make the show even better adds to the effort required to put it all together. I’m starting to feel the stress from juggling a full time job and the show but no worries, we are working on a system to avoid further delays while keeping content nice and fresh.

This week’s Hot Interesting Topics include Transporter 2, Floss Bread from Bread Talk, Dramatic Conditioning Lotion by Clinique, Upcoming.org, Bloated Yak, Konfabulator, Linux and Manny Pacquiao.

H.I.T Episode 6 - Sept. 24

September 29th, 2005

Episode 6 is finally here and it is going to be short and sweet. We’re busy preparing for a big show next week hopefully with a special guest plus some new segments. Sorry this one took a little longer to put out, a Filipino was crowned Miss International earlier this week and I’ve been so busy at work because of this.

This week’s Hot Interesting Topics include Age of Empires 3, Body Shop Satsuma Shimmer Lip Balm, Crumpler Bags, Talkin Toons, Gmail and Blinkx. We’re also giving away 30 Gmail invites to the first 30 people who email in their requests.

H.I.T Episode 5 - Sept. 20

September 22nd, 2005

And then there were two.

Joanna takes a break from the show due to her hectic work schedule. Actually, all three of us have been so busy and have had our own stuff to do over the weekend that we were forced to push back our shoot date a couple of days. We ended up having to tape our speils at odd ours. This was our first outdoor night shoot, and thanks to our friend, Jupiter who did the lighting and the camerawork, eveything turned out pretty good despite the odds. I also got to do a review at the iPod nano at a local Apple Center.

H.I.T Episode 4 - Sept. 10

September 14th, 2005

Our youngest sister Dorothy took the time to guest on our show this week. With each new show we keep getting better at delivering our lines, takes become less and less. Wednesday has once again become our release date given my very weird editing schedule (early in the morning). Once again hope you enjoy the show.
